The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Health Care is organizing a nationwide congress on deafness that will reflect on the various issues concerning the deaf people and other possible ways to improve their situation.
Slated on November 14-16 at the Paco Catholic School, Manila, the Philippine Catholic Congress on Deafness is now on its 20th year.
Organizers said the congress intends to create “Action Committees” that will aid in promoting the welfare of the deaf and other persons with disabilities.
Some of the invited speakers are representatives from the Department of Education, Newborn Screening and University of Sto. Tomas Medicine and Surgery Department.
