WASHINGTON — Now coming to a Catholic high school near you: the eye-opening documentary Posada.
It’s also coming to a Catholic university near you, or perhaps the Newman Center at a secular college, or a Catholic parish, or one of 1,000 organizations that serve immigrants or advocate on their behalf.
The prize-winning documentary connects the difficult journeys of immigrants with the Advent tradition of Las Posadas.
A copy of the film Posada was sent to every US parish known to offer at least one weekly Mass in Spanish, plus every Catholic high school and college, plus the immigrant-aid organizations — a total of 7,200 copies in all, according to Jesuit Father Mark McGregor, who produced and directed the 60-minute film and is director of the Posadas Project out of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.
