
A FORMER monk filed charges of perjury and falsification against eight persons including Abelio Mangila, also known as Frater Martin Mary, the superior of the Monastery of the Marian Shrine in Sibonga town, Cebu.
In his complaint affidavit, Venancio Cabillon described Mangila as the “conductor of this orchestra” responsible for fabricating and filing cases against him in alleged conspiracy with some monks and other persons.
Named respondents in the case were Mangila, monks Renario Ybañez, Mario Mulato, Bonifacio Magtoto, Rene Feliciano and Evert Lloyd Ugay, spouses Francisco and Joan Argoncillo and vendor Pastora Superable.
Cabillon said Mangila accused him of stashing P200,000 and several religious items with him and signing a receipt acknowledging custody of the items.
