
PRIESTS must guard against arrogance and abuse of power, the national congress of the clergy has been told in a closed-door session.
Filipinos’ high regard for bishops and priests presents a particular challenge to the clergy, Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle of Imus said.
“I found this session very helpful because I experience this in my ministry,” said Father Romulo Ponte. “It is very easy to get spoiled as a priest in the Philippines,” he said.
Father Ponte said Bishop Tagle had warned the congress at the closed-door session that spoiled priests become ineffective in their ministry.
