Lay people offer retreat for priests

MEMBERS of the laity in cooperation with the Committee for the Year For Priests have planned to offer a two-day retreat for the “sanctification of priests” in line with the year-long celebration of the Jubilee Year for Priests.

Dubbed as “My Retreat for my Priest,” the two-day activity is a day of prayer for the “sanctification of priests, a moment of faith sharing experience in the Church and a dynamic invitation in the collaboration of sacred minister and lay faithful in their pastoral endeavor.”

“We know very well the power that comes from prayer as the Lord said: ‘Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test,’” Monsignor James A. Contreras, Committee for the Year For Priests chairman, wrote in his letter of invitation to the laity.

The lay participants will come from more than 80 parishes in Laguna province.

The retreat has been set from April 29 – 30 at the Betania Retreat House in Pansol, Calamba City.
