THE head of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) said the new system of automated elections should be replicated in the 2013 presidential elections.
PPCRV chairperson Henrietta de Villa said the May 10 elections showed automation could improve the conduct and outcome of elections.
She believes automation helped prevent “systematic cheating” during the recent polls that put Benigno Aquino III in power.
De Villa on Thursday released to the media the result of the random manual audit of 1,145 precincts conducted by a technical working group. It showed 99 percent accuracy.
The audit concluded that in most cases variances were not due to fraud but “human error.”
