POP singer Stanislaus Alexander Liauw Delon Thamrin, runner-up in the 2004 Indonesian Idol contest, drew a large crowd for a West Java Catholic youth festival, which aimed to help young people find life partners.
Over 300 young people attended an Aug. 29 festival organized by the diocesan commission for youth at Pajajaran Sports Square in Bogor in Indonesia’s West Java.
During the seven-hour program hosted by St. Andrew’s Church, Sukaraja, participants presented various art performances such as barongsai (lion dance), pom pom boys, musical drama, and traditional music like gamelan, a Javanese traditional musical instrument.
“The program aims to unite young Catholics in this diocese,” Father Thomas Riyadi, the commission’s chairman, told ucanews.com.
