Cardinal Rosales on RH bill: Church never loses

GAUDENCIO Cardinal Rosales, archbishop of Manila, said the Church will eventually emerge triumphant in the debate over the reproductive health (RH) bill.

Cardinal Rosales said the Church had never suffered a loss, even as he called for a dialogue between supporters and opponents of the bill that is up for plenary debates next week in Congress.

“The Church has never lost. Believe me, whatever they do,” the cardinal said. “The (Church) of Christ always wins,” he added.

Nevertheless, the Manila archbishop called on both sides of the bill to hold meaningful dialogues and not engage in mudslinging.

“It would be better if there is a dialogue, where it’s not just one side presenting its views. They should also see the reason why the position of the Church is like this,” Cardinal Rosales said.
