AFTER completing the month of Ramadan, the group of Muslims in Bacolod City, who are associated with Dar Al-Dhikr Islamic Center in Mansilingan, said they will do what is good and forbid what is evil as among the main teachings of Allah.
Ustadz Omar B. Betita, President of the Islamic group, said they were very grateful that they are able to complete the month of sacrifice.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which lasts 29 to 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sex with their partners during daylight hours
Ramadan is intended to teach Muslims about patience, spirituality, humility and submissiveness to God. Muslims fast for the sake of Allah and to offer more prayers than usual.
“We are here to promote peace. Genuine Muslims follow the will of Allah. We’re peace-loving but, if provoked, we have to defend ourselves and our family,” he added.
He said that there are those who engage in bad and illegal activities that are against the will of Allah. “We are praying for them to do what is right.”
The Muslim leader urged his fellow Muslim to always promote peace and do things rightly for Allah.
