Sto. Niño de Cebu leaves Antipolo

HUNDREDS of church goers at the Cathedral of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo City bade farewell Sunday to the replica of the image of Sto. Niño de Cebu, which toured the city for about a week.

Students dancing to the tune of Viva Pit Senor of the Sinulog Festival signaled the residents’ farewell activities for the week-long visit of the red and gold clad clothed image of the young Jesus in this pilgrim capital of the country.

A jam-packed celebration of the holy mass Sunday morning happened before the goodbye rites for the Sto. Niño.

The other day, a mini “Sinulog” street dancing parade was held around the vicinity of the cathedral before the famous image was transferred from various chapels of some of the villages back to the cathedral.
