THE Catholic Bishops’ Conference has urged Catholics to join in a five-day national bible workshop which opens today in Dumaguete City.
The head of the conference’s Episcopal Commission on Bible Apostolate (ECBA) said the workshop aims to encourage bible reading to renew people’s faith in Jesus Christ.
Auxiliary Bishop Pablo Virgilio David of Pampanga, ECBA chairman, said the commission is continuing its program of giving away five million bibles to poor families or selling them at a subsidized price of 50 pesos (US$1.16) each.
